Does anyone know PARKRUN?
During my research on the internet a few weeks ago I found the running concept of ParkRuns, which is in existence since 15 years! The idea is to meet every Saturday at 9.00 a.m. for a 5K run! With the help of volunteers the time of each participant is measured and published on a homepage.
The highlight: it is free of charge and everyone can participate, young or old, walker or top athlete. The community and running together is what counts. If you want to know more, follow this link!
Worldwide there are already over 1900 places where these ParkRuns are held every week. A brilliant idea which I would like to support.
Today I took part in such a ParkRun! It is a lot of fun and I think I will participate every Saturday, especially as it is only 10 km away from me. There is also a park run in Munich, which I will definitely visit.

Bei meinen Recherchen im Internet fand ich vor einigen Wochen das bereits seit 15 Jahren bestehende Laufkonzept der ParkRuns! Es geht darum, dass sich weltweit jeden Samstag um 9.00 Uhr früh zu einem 5K Lauf treffen! Mit Hilfe von freiwilligen Helfern wird die Zeit von jedem Teilnehmer gemessen und auf einer Homepage für jeden einsehbar veröffentlicht.
Der Clou daran: es ist kostenlos und jeder kann teilnehmen, ob jung oder alt, ob Spaziergänger oder Spitzenathlet. Die Gemeinschaft und das gemeinsame Laufen zählen. Wer mehr darüber wissen möchte, folgt diesem Link!
Weltweit gibt es bereits über 1900 Plätze an denen diese ParkRuns jede Woche durchgeführt werden. Eine geniale Idee, die ich gerne unterstützen möchte.
Heute hab ich an so einem ParkRun teilgenommen! Es macht riesig Spaß und ich denke, ich werde jeden Samstag daran teilnehmen, zumal es nur knapp 10 km von mir entfernt ist. Es gibt in München auch noch einen Parkrun, den ich bestimmt auch noch besuchen werde.
Habt ihr auch schon mal an einem ParkRun teilgenommen?
Everyone is welcome at ParkRun, running and pushing ones own bicycle, pushing a buggy with a baby on board or walking the dog!

I certainly am going to improve my ranking. I was only on position 24 out of 26 participants! I did the mistake to run too fast in the beginning and got really exhausted the first kilometers so I had to slow down considerably!
Current: 2 854 km
