A little longer than usual walk to the office

This morning I was up early and ended up catching an earlier than normal at 4:45 instead of 5:03, so since i was getting to the city early I decided to get off the train at 125th Street in Harlem and go for a walk from there.

So my first photo is on the platform before I started my walk

Now as I was walking towards downtown i was taking he odd photo with my phone for this post of things I saw along the way and then I noticed i had a few photos of similar things so. Stuck with that for this post.

And what was that you may ask, Art on the sides of buildings, starting with this one, a colorful Mural on the side of a building that caught my eye but for the most part it is hidden away from view behind the trees

All these shots were taken walking down Lexington Ave

And some more Murals on the side of a building it down at street level

Now this wall I am not sure is strictly speaking a mural as these art piece are mosaics, they were pretty cool so I got some shots of them with my big camera as well to share at a later date

Next I came across this bit of Hmmm, I guess its Needlework or handicraft work on a fence around a building, there is a recently new TV Show the Village Tyt in the first episode one of the characters did a pice like this except she cut out the fence, where’s this one is done without damaging the fence, but my Point is I had to get a shot of this piece to share with my wife who watches that show.

Now I had initially planned to walk all the way from 125th Street to 42nd Street, but i got distracted to much taking photos I guess and time got away from me I only walked to 59th Street and needed to get on the subway to 42nd so I git to the office on time.

##Thats all Folks!

Photowalking,Moving Around Office

Sort:

I wouldn't have that much beautiful and interesting artwork to see, if I walked to my office - actually, I only know a few house walls and a train bridge with ugly graffiti, but no artworks, like you photographed. Especially this embroidery (?) on the fence is a kind of artwork, I have never seen before.
Great shots, and have a nice day JJ :)

Well NYC is a little different from even the city I live in, and this was quite a detour walking from 15th Street
The embroidery art was quite unique first time I have seen it myself
You to have a nice day

I wish you a nice day too :)

Will do my best, going to be a quite day light drizzle all day you know that annoying sort of state where it snot really raining but not real dry

Yes, I do know that - this is, what I had today, when I was driving around to the west in search for the sun. I didn't find the sun herself, but I have seen some blue holes in the clouds, and there were also some mountain peaks, which were illuminated by the sun.
I think, the gray days will soon be over ... at least for a few days :)

The sun actually made a brief appearance today which I wasn’t expecting orI would have brought in my macro lens to get someshots of the flowers, and it was cool I did, down in the garden area, which I went to get some shots anyway, was a hawk sitting on one of the street Lams and as it happened the lens I had on the camera the 24-240 was just what I needed to get shots of it, first time I have seen one here

You are lucky, my friend - I see such big birds sometimes, but I have never managed to get close enough to photograph one.
Right before I went for my first walk since last weekend. It was still wet, and a bit rainy, but it felt really good.

I was indeed lucky so in contrast where I normally only ever see birds in the distance
I told a friend about it as soon as I got back to my desk and he went down to see and it was gone already so I was very lucky
Glad you got out fir a walk and may this weekend give you plenty of nice weather for getting it and about with your camera

Thanks for the resteem :)

You have a wonderful eye for photography @pixresteemer, so I gave you an upvote, and wanted to comment as well :)

Murals on walls takes boring out of bricks, the weave on fencing very unique, look forward to seeing the mosaics that also very eye catching.

Eventful walk to day JJ.

I do agree a bit of street art can brighten up an otherwise dull area, not sure what I will share today for my actifit post, such a dull and damp morning and a bit chilly so I walked straight to the office this morning

Wow, nice morning walk to see art and murals photography.

Thanksand todays morning walk was completely different as you will see later

These are some cool street art! :)

I never expected to come across such cool bits of art on that walk I must say

You' ve been selected always in support of good work

Very cool shots!
I think the one behind the trees, no doubt is a bit hidden but I like it looking natural like that! Tough to take shots though... :)
Ohhh, I love the 'needlework' on the fence! The idea of that is great! It is like a cross stitch without crosses... if you know what I mean - using the holes to form the patterns but foregoing crosses... Hahaha - I'm making it more difficult to understand, aren't I?!! :D I shall stop now... :))

Yeah I did like the natural feel with the tree and that first piece of art it was kind of cool to see
That embroidery or whatever it is called not he fence was a cool find, and yes thats a cool way of explaining it cross stitch without the crosses :) It was totally clear to me what you meant :)

Great photo's here JJ.
I see you also get up early my friend and it's the best times of the day.
My post today incidentally also entails some early actions.
Blessings.

Thanks and yes since I can remember I have been an early riser when I was 14 I was getting up at 4 am to go for runs and swims every morning as part of my keeping fit fir Rugby. and Soccer and it’s been my get up time ever sincere gaff to check out your post

I love the needlework on the fence, that is very different. I'm glad you made it to work on time.

Posted using Partiko Android

Yeah the needlework was so cool, there were tow pieces of it

Like a few others have said... that needlework on the fence was quite cool. But being the "me" that I am, I have to say my favorite was the first shot; there's just something about trains that I love... probably growing up in the country, and living not but a few car lengths away from the tracks. Or maybe the perspective of the shot... either way. the wall murals are also quite cool... but that Railtrack shot!!

I guess the real question is...

... Did you get to work on time?

Yes i made it to work on time only just I would not have if I had walked the whole way

I know the train line track didn’t fir with the rest of the post but I love that view and had to share it
