The Mountain Goat

in #animals23 days ago

The Mountain Goat (Oreamnos americanus) is found only in northwestern North America and adapted to life on steep cliffs where footholds are often covered by snow or ice.

They are not considered true goats and are not closely related to domestic goats. They are, however, part of the family bovidae.

funnily enough, both males and females support horns so the best way to differentiate between sexes is by the way they urinate. The male stretches forward with his front legs, and the female squats on her hind legs.

Speaking of horns, you can tell the age of mountain goats by the number of rings on their horns.
