Digital Art_2019_Overdrink

in #art7 years ago

Hi friends!
Once day in New Year I came up with such an funny idea for drawing: drunken snake in Santa's hat & with with a wineglass of champagne lying under the tree.
The green snake is a satirical symbol of hard drinking.
And since many people overindulgence drink very many alcohol just in time for the New Year, this drawing will be actual))))

Usually I start drawing with a pencil sketch.

Then scanning & opening it in graphic programm (in this case, Photoshop CC 2018)
Make a line art.

Choose a nice color palette, color for background and start to drawing.

I didn't like yellow background, I replace it to 50% gray.
That's better view!

Then I pick colors - some green shades for christmas pine-tree & and orange and yellow for snake.
Shadows for snake should be cold (green shades), but shadows for pine-tree will be the opposite warmer (red shades).
Also I choose color for Santa's had.

On this step I decided to add some distortion to make the image look even funnier.
So, it seems to a drunk person that the floors stagger and leave from under their feet, and the objects around him don't seem to be as usual.

At the same time I drawing a wineglass.
With bubbles of champagne.

Then I add a garland on christmas pine-tree & all remaining time I work wiht details.
I usually spend 3-4 hours doing this.
But the result I think is worth the effort.

Add a textures (with texture brush) on shake, floor & wall.

I want to say two words about tools.
Usually I drawing in Photoshop with simple hard round brush, but I make its setting for myself.
And sometime I use other brushes with adding textures.
But they are always different, because it's depends on the task.

Have a nice day!.. and don't over drink even on holidays, he-he)))))

Gera.
