Voyager. Scenes of Nature Art Contest

in #art8 years ago (edited)

In this artwork I wanted to show how human curiosity for exploration brining all of us closer to understanding many nature phenomenon’s . In modern world we make our research on computers with a keyboard being our sextant in this journey. I also incorporate Einstein’s formula of relativity , formula of time travel and speed of light measurements in this drawing.

In the process of drawing this composition I used pencil, Sharpies fine point marker and Fabriano drawing paper. I also decided to use technique of pointillism to make a better illusion of depth of the wormhole .

This drawing is my entry for Scenes of Nature Art Contest contest https://steemit.com/art/@sethlinson/20-sbd-in-prizes-scenes-of-nature-art-contest#@sethlinson/re-marinaart-re-sethlinson-20-sbd-in-prizes-scenes-of-nature-art-contest-20180204t225911497z .Thank you to @sethlinson for hosting this contest!

It is very important to start working from darker areas of your composition. That way it will be easy to balance the values of white and black.

Very well thought out work and done, like that shell shape of drawing @marinaart.

Thank you. I used Fabriano heavy weight drawing paper that you recommended and very happy with the feeling it gives when pencil taches it. Big difference from Canson paper.

This really makes me happy that you like Fabriano paper :) They have good quality papers also for watercolor and for drawing. For now my favorite paper brand. And I agree big difference from Canson. Glad I was of help with my information in posts @marinaart :)

I order all my paper online and it is hard to judge the quality of it that way. It is always nice to have help with paper brands from the fellow artist.:)

@marinaart, know what you are talking about. But for now my favorite brand, and I tried HahneMuhler and Canson still is Fabriano in all his editions and thickness.

I love seeing the evolution of the drawing!

Thank you for stopping by!

I featured your piece in the final showcase of contest entries. Thanks again for your submission! I'll be announcing the winners later today :)

Beautiful work! I like what you did with the theme, as I was a navigator in the navy when I was young :-)

@marinaart it's amazing. I like your work. You are so talented.

WOW This is so beautiful! The details and elements you've decided to incorporate into this are so thoughtful and interesting! The watch, the compass, the keyboard... JUST INCREDIBLE <3

Thank you . It took me a few days to think all this through :)

It's a great one for the scene of nature contest. Very interesting art here.

Thank you.I am glad that you like it!

@marinaart this is wonderful!!! Just the oencil sketch itself is worthy of the competition. The inking takes it to a whole other level. This one is so well conceptualised and i love all the little details in it that scream 'The sea'. Especially the keyboard and the protractor angle. Love the style, love the penwork and love your work!

Thank you very much for so wonderful words about my drawing:)

I'm now a follower of yours. Great work and hoping to see more content. I previously tried using small dots to render objects. Had some disappointing runs during those days. After seeing your step by step work, I think I figured out where I've done wrong. Thank you for the indirect tutorial :)

You are welcome, happy to help :) You need to work on darkest area first - this is most important out of whole process.

Very nice my dear 😘

Thank you very much!
