New here! Casino blackjack dealer: looking to connect!

in #blackjack3 days ago (edited)

Not sure how this works yet, but I’m curious to see what kinds of topics people enjoy on this platform.

I am a table games dealer in a Native-owned casino in Michigan. My job comes with excellent benefits and decent pay for non-skilled labor (around $24-28/hour). It can be fun and entertaining, but it is very taxing on any human that has empathy for others. I struggle a lot, because I’m more of a people pleaser than a punisher, but it feels like I punish people for a living sometimes!

I am a friendly and kind person, and unfortunately have to detach from my true self in order to survive most nights. I think I will make a post that talks about what NOT to do as a blackjack player in a live game.

Table game etiquette goes a long way! Do you want everyone else at the table (including the dealer) to be irritated or even angry at you?

I can not change the outcome of the game, but you will have a more pleasant experience if your dealer is on your side… just saying (?)

Hope everyone is having a good day, and I don’t even know how to get people to read this now. Haha
Good luck out there!
