Today, I am sharing the second part of my tour of the mural located across from the Gran Mariscal de Ayacucho Museum. This mural depicts various cultural figures who distinguished themselves through their contributions to the independence movement—such as Antonio José de Sucre—as well as their musical legacies, their impact on culture and education, and the lasting mark each left on the Eastern region and Venezuela. One of these figures is Hernán Marín, a renowned musician and composer known for a distinctive musical style that includes the joropo estribillo of the Eastern region; last year, an amphitheater named after this great composer was inaugurated in the "El Monumento" sector as a tribute to his distinguished musical career. The mural also features singer-songwriter Luis Mariano Rivera, famous for songs like "Cerecita" or "Semeruco"; the city theater bears his name in honor of his outstanding career. It is a beautiful structure—formerly a cinema—featuring comfortable seating and ample space for audiences to enjoy the musical performances, dance shows, and theatrical productions held there.
