        Cool allot of hardware stores stock 1/4 inch shock cord or smaller or you can sometimes get similar in a kayaking section in stores like Walmart or other places that sell sporting equipment.
        I've used it to make ball bungies.

            I've never used any shock cord, except the ball bungies you mentioned. I am sure it could be very useful.
