Spirit Airlines tended to divide people - being a budget airline some loved it for its cheap prices, others loathed it because of its lack of frills and low quality service.

But whatever you think about it, the collapse of this budget airline might just be an indicator of the new era Trump's policies are creating....

This collapse is possibly about more than just poor management or bad luck..... this could be the first big American business to fall because of trouble involving Iran.

Airlines, more than any other business, live or die based on the cost of fuel.

And when you have a war with a major oil provider which then makes it difficult for other oil providers to ship fuel, the price of fuel goes up, and that's very harmful to a business such as Spirit, which works on very slim margins.

Of corse Republicans blame the fact that regulators blocked a merger with JetBlue. Everyone picked a side.
