Meet The First Cannabis Restaurant In The United States
The times they are a'changin. Did you guys hear about this?
Out in West Hollywood, California they're opening up the country's first cannabis cafe. The food will not be infused with weed like I thought it would but instead they'll serve regular food that goes well with weed.
Howdy folks and greetings from the Great Plains of North Texas!
Yeah, the cafe is called Lowell Farms: A Cannabis Cafe. It looks tremendous.. lots of class. I bet it has some big money behind it.
They have an outdoor patio too, I think it's a rooftop thing:
They just recently got a unanimous approval from the West Hollywood Business License Commission and the opening date is September 1st.
They'll have "flower hosts" for each table who will offer different strains of weed and explain their "specific effects."
There'll also be bongs and dabs available( I don't even know what dabs are..lol) and the flower host will also roll joints for the table.
The food menu will include fried chicken sandwichs, grilled peaches and burrata, white bean hummus, and a dessert platter complete with traditional stoner fare like peanut butter cookies and ice cream sandwiches!
lol..you can't make this stuff up. Only in California but coming to the rest of America soon I'm sure.
The head chef, Andrea Drummer, said that she believes that she and her team can show how cannabis be “responsibly integrated into society.”
“It is a historic moment not only for cannabis, but the country as a whole,” Drummer said. “We are proud to bring the first-ever cannabis restaurant to the United States, and it's gratifying to open a space that will foster educational and responsible consumption.”
The cafe is putting in special air filtration systems and are planting air-purifying and odor-absorbing landscaping as an additional precaution.
It should be interesting to see how this cafe does. I think business will be extremely brisk! I think these will spread across the country in the legal states, am I wrong? How could it NOT succeed?

And I was shocked when I saw this photo of him, I was like.."Is THAT John Travolta???" He always had that thick, black, full head of hair.
I did a double take when I saw that shot of him but hey, it works for Vin Diesel, The Rock, and the great sir @hangin ...so why not? It's a great look.

I certainly would..lol...i did Amsterdam about 18 years ago and they had all these cafes then was a awesome time i don't think i ever found my way home :)

Yep i do get high on life i just passed through there once when visiting a friend over that way it's not my kind of thing.
me neither, just the smell of it makes my stomach queasy! lol.
May be time to purchase some cannabis stocks. Have been eyeing several over the past month or so. It is amazing just how far the legalization of marijuana has come in the past several years. There're so many benefits that this plant offers to those with a variety of medical issues, soon it will be as popular as asprin #janton

Cool place. I think we are going to see a lot more of these places springing up just about everywhere. Cannabis has been around for a very long time but it has been under cover because of fed laws. The time has come for it to break out and be completely legal.

That would be a fun place to visit with a group of friends. My daughter was just telling me about the restaurant that they went to last night for a car club meet up that had a hooka bar. They only hookahs I knew of were the ones we smoked hash in back in the 60s! Since weed is not legal in Wisconsin yet, she had to explain to me what hooka bars were all about. I still don't get it, but her experience included oranges and pineapples!
And John Travolta always looks good!

I think I agree with you that it'll be quite successful. Booze is successful everywhere, after all! Personally, I don't see much of a difference other than the legality of it.

It's not quite legal here, yet. The State said they'd quit prosecuting for possession if the amount is small (I forget the actual amount), and it's legal for medical purposes but only in liquid form. Seriously. I had been trying to get my doctor to diagnose me with something that needed it until she pointed out it's only a liquid. Though I suppose it might work a an ingredient in a brownie.
lol! Well I think it's only a matter of time before it will be legal everywhere in all forms don't you think? Might take Texas awhile to get it passed. But the oil has so many amazing benefits and then the other forms will follow I think.

A dab is a concentrated hit of THC that consists of a earwax like golden brown glob. Usually dabs are for cancer patients but everyone does them now. Sometimes you can find shatter or wax that is over 90% THC. Believe me those hits are enough to knock you on your you know what!!!

They have special glass pieces similar to bongs used to hit dabs with. Usually you have to use a torch lighter getting a titanium nail cherry red hot. Then you put the glass piece that has a hole on the top over the nail. Then with a tiny little spoon made for scooping up a little of the glob you put it on the nail. The nail as hot as it is should instantly vaporize the dab and that's when you inhale on the other end the vapor.
Arkansas recently legalized medical cannabis but the state got an injunction preventing dispensaries from opening up. Although dispensaries are starting to open up now. I think they fought and won. Got me, I don't follow up on these laws. If there is no victim there is no crime. Free men don't need permission to use a medicinal plant grown by god here on Planet Earth. So legal or not I'm still going to use cannabis. However living in town now I did invest in a vaporizer to help conceal my use. I have to be careful.

I don't think it will be long before it's legal everywhere, all forms. Might take Texas awhile to get there.

Howdy Trudee! Yes and the people who work there would be in it all day, I wonder if their air filtration systems are strong enough to keep them from getting too much? I'm sure they have it all figured out.
It looks like an interesting joint to hang around in. Personally I don't like restaurants where people can smoke in the dining areas, but if there is a bar or louge area that is cool.
I do see these places getting very popular, too.
