Battlefield: We are young

in CCC3 months ago

It sounds like an idiotic expression. Who would say such a thing? A small child? A teenager (using it as an excuse), a middle-aged person, or an elderly person (both to reassure themselves that there are still plenty of opportunities and life isn't over yet?) Or is it Epstein and his cronies, still searching for the means to eternal life (pedophilia, sex parties, and cannibalism included).
We are young... does this mean that anything is still possible and all opportunities are there for the taking? Perhaps it's an expression used to keep one's spirits up. Unfortunately, it's rarely the case that you have a say in your own future. There's always someone trying to control your life or steer you in a direction you don't want to go, at least if you're not being deviously tricked.

Love is a battlefield? It shouldn't be. No promises, no demands? I think that's generally a lie. The average couple in love isn't so young and free. There's always one who gives in, gives up, waits and hopes. True love isn't a battlefield, but it is a strange thing. If love were that battlefield, and we lost ourselves, only to discover one day that love wasn't really worth forgetting everything and everyone, especially ourselves, then all the time spent together would be wasted.

Happy Valentine's Day to those who think this day should be celebrated with a partner. If not, perhaps it would be a nice idea to do someone a kindness. Leave a sincere comment. You're only as old as you feel, right? We are... young!

Prompts: battlefield - we are young

This really got me thinking. I'm not into dating myself—still young, still figuring life out—but I've watched my parents and learned from my upbringing. And from what I've seen, love isn't supposed to be a battlefield. It's something deeper.

Real love, to me, is sacrifice. It's being there for someone not because you want something in return, but because it comes from within. Sometimes that love might even feel harsh—like when my parents correct me or push me toward the right path. At the moment it stings, but years later I look back and realize: that was love. Steering me, shaping me, even when I didn't understand.

You said love shouldn't make you lose yourself. I agree. But maybe real love helps you find yourself—slowly, over years, through sacrifices and small moments you only recognize in hindsight.

Happy Valentine's Day 💙

We are as young as we feel—and perhaps 'young' is simply a nicer word to use. But in truth, we are as old as everything we have endured

I can't say love is a battlefield because I have never been a soldier of love 😆

The only thing I'm sure is that so many people don't have a fucking idea of how love should be.

Anyway, Happy Valentines Day for all lovers!

I doubt there are any soldiers of love, more likely soldiers of themselves.
We could ask Cupid but I believe he's jobless same for the dating sites. People no longer know how to communicate and many prefer a pet or AI above the real thing.

That's a fact 😆

I'm one of the ones that prefert pets, it's easier and safer than have a partner 😂

A pet makes a good substitute, always happy to see you is a plus as well and also great is if he can take care of himself. Let's hope the pet is safer and litter-trained. LOL

By the way, thanks a lot for my freewrite etiquette 😁 I'm loving it!

I think it's relative, let me explain: I, for example, am young, but if I approach a 5-year-old child, I will look old.
