Critical Review and Discussion of Related Literature for Research Development

During today's supervision meeting, the discussion focused exclusively on the review and critical evaluation of relevant literature related to the proposed research topic. A total of ten scholarly articles were presented and discussed in detail. For each study, emphasis was placed on understanding the research problem, the methodology employed, the key findings obtained, and the overall impact and contribution of the research to the field.

The discussion revealed various methodological approaches adopted by different researchers and highlighted the strengths and limitations of each study. Considerable attention was given to comparing and contrasting the findings of the reviewed papers, identifying recurring themes, and examining areas where results differed. This exercise provided a broader understanding of the current state of knowledge within the research domain.

Furthermore, the supervisor encouraged a critical rather than descriptive approach to literature review, emphasizing the need to analyze the relevance, contributions, and limitations of existing studies. The reviewed papers also helped to identify potential research gaps and areas requiring further investigation. Recommendations were provided on how to organize the literature thematically and synthesize findings to develop a coherent argument within the literature review chapter.

Overall, the session enhanced my understanding of the research landscape, strengthened my ability to critically evaluate academic studies, and provided clearer direction for refining the literature review and establishing the foundation for the proposed research.
