Santander - two churches in one cathedral

In the capital of Cantabria - Santander, there is a very unusual church. I would call it two in one.

The Cathedral is really something special - it's actually two Gothic churches, one on top of the other. The lower part, called Iglesia del Santissimo Cristo, is from the 13th century, and it's where you'll find two silver heads with the skulls of Santander's patron saints. Then there's the upper church, which was built a century later, in the 14th century.

When we told the children that the cathedral consists of two churches, they were very surprised. Arian said that this was an original solution. And Erica was interested in how they did it.

Also in the city there are beautiful buildings of the old post office and the Santander bank, whose branches are all over Spain.
