Uncle Buck: OK family entertainmentsteemCreated with Sketch.

I have vague souvenirs of this movie. But after rewatching it during my last trip, I can say I have mixed feelings about it.

A family moves far into the suburbs. But when the woman's father has a heart attack, they are stuck with their last resort for a babysitter: her brother-on-law Buck, the fat, unorganized, care-free uncle...

With John Candy as the main actor in the movie, you know the type of humor you will have and there's plenty of it. There's also the teenage girl with the attitude; and it seems that the anti-man sentiment wasn't born yesterday.

However, Buck isn't the loser he appears to be at the beginning. He TRULY cares about his nephew and nieces, and wants to protect them like a father. His discourse against the school vice-principal was pretty based, and his "taking care" of the teen's boyfriend was interesting to say the least. And as with most "older" movies, everyone grows up in some way, including the teen and Buck's would-be girlfriend.

In short, Uncle Buck is worth a watch. Despite SNL lowly humor, it's wholesome entertainment that the whole family can enjoy
