Religion is neither good or bad for society or in general. My thoughts are ... if there is a person that is " bad " or doing " bad " things, they would do the same acts if they were apart of a religious group or not.

Everyone should be able to have a choice and do or follow what we they follow. As long as they aren't hurting anyone, or some kinda cult..... It's all good and fine with me. Many religions have a lot of good teachings one can pick up lessons from.

What's most important is love and respect for each other.

Yes alright.
if it were not for religion maybe society's order would be very chaotic.
and if not for religion, freedom, equality and just prosperity can not exist for society.
it is a religion that guides us to live in harmony and peace.

It is good.because this time society is an important part of our life.we cannot live in the society without the believe of religion

It depends, it is bad when it becomes the perfect excuse to commit terrible acts against other people, but it is very good when it is taken as the right path and gives people peace and hope.

yay! this sounds like a great contest @thepassenger...heading over to check it out now!

I think as soon as it stops being something living and starts being something rigid, and about laws and salvation and condemnation is the moment it starts being very bad indeed for society.

Good and bad. It was very bad in the dark ages, possibly causing man kind millions of deaths due to ignorance of medicine and setting mankind back due to technological advances shunned to do myths. Now it is a double edged sword. It can give many comfort and direction in trying times. But is still causing people to doubt science in the face of global warming. And the cause of radical hatred of fellow man.
I feel it is good on and individual and communal level, but we have yet to learn to truly love our fellow man and listen to facts for it to help society.

i as a matter of fact can neither say religion is good or bad for the society this is because everyone has a different interpretation of their religion to some people religion is a way to keep right while to some its a pathway to a better afterlife and some other set may see it as something else that is why the world is the way it is today so i can neither say its been good or bad to the society but if i were to decide i would it has done more good than harm thanks for this opportunity to express my self
