From his cramped, neon-lit apartment on the 84th floor, Julian stared at his triple-monitor setup. As a senior neural-data auditor, his job was simple yet exhausting: find corrupt memories before they were permanently uploaded into the Global Consciousness Network.
It was 3:14 AM when a strange file bypassed his security firewall.
The file had no sender address, no timestamp, and no size limit. It was labeled with a single ancient phrase: "Project Chronos."
🔮 A Voice From Tomorrow
Julian put on his neural headset and initiated a localized sandbox environment to safely run the code. Instead of line after line of corrupted algorithms, a crystal-clear audio stream filled his headphones.
It wasn't code. It was a recorded voice—terrified, trembling, yet undeniably familiar.
"If you are listening to this, Julian, do not sign the neural sync agreement tomorrow morning. The memories they are injecting into the network aren't fake... they are events that haven't happened yet."
Julian froze. His breathing stopped.
The voice on the recording wasn't just a stranger's. It was his own.

Before he could isolate the audio frequency, his entire system flashed crimson. The metallic doors of his apartment clicked shut, and the automated lock system turned completely dark.
Outside his window, three unmarked stealth drones quietly descended through the heavy smog.
