A New Community Experiment with Cryptid TCG

Since 2019, our team has contributed to the Steem blockchain ecosystem in various ways.

We have operated a Steem Witness and developed a range of blockchain-based services, including GameFi, DeFi, market-making bots, and community management tools. Through these efforts, we have directly experienced both the potential and the limitations of the Steem ecosystem.

Steem was one of the first projects to turn the concept of blockchain-based social media into a working platform. Users could create content, participate in communities, and receive blockchain-based rewards for their contributions.

However, despite its historical significance as one of the first blockchain social media platforms, Steemit has experienced a substantial decline in new user acquisition and overall community activity. STEEM has also gradually lost market attention following a prolonged period of price decline.

However, the purpose of this experiment is not to determine whether the price of STEEM can rise again.

The question we want to explore is more fundamental:

Can Steemit, as a platform and community, welcome new users and create meaningful value once again?

Connecting the Cryptid TCG Community to Steemit

Cryptid TCG is a BNB Chain-based GameFi service developed by our team.

We are currently running campaigns with the KuCoin Web3 and Gate DEX teams while also building our own global community. In particular, our events and community activities on X have attracted strong engagement, with many users leaving comments and expressing their interest in participating.

Recently, we launched our first recruitment campaign to expand the Cryptid TCG community to Steemit.

We plan to select an initial group of 50 participants, help them create Steem accounts free of charge, and guide them through the process of using Steemit and participating in the community.

Selected participants will be able to earn TCGP through Cryptid TCG-related content creation, game activities, and community events. They will also be able to participate in STEEM reward programs held on Steemit.

The attached X post received considerable attention and engagement shortly after the recruitment campaign began. Our next objective is to determine whether this initial interest can develop beyond one-time event participation and lead to genuine Steemit adoption and sustained community activity.

More Than a User Acquisition Event

The purpose of this project is not simply to increase the number of Steemit accounts.

Creating accounts alone does not create a community. A real community begins to form only when new users create content, read other users’ posts, leave comments, interact with one another, and repeatedly return to the platform.

For this reason, our team will directly operate, monitor, and document the following processes:

• Steem account creation and initial onboarding for new users
• Development of a dedicated Cryptid TCG community on Steemit
• Content and reward programs connected to game activities
• Measurement of posts, comments, and overall community participation
• Analysis of user retention seven and thirty days after joining
• Evaluation of whether STEEM rewards encourage genuine activity
• Observation of interactions between existing Steemit users and new GameFi users

Through this data, we aim to evaluate whether Steemit can serve as a community-building platform for external Web3 projects.

Can Steemit Prove Its Value Again?

Steem and Steemit already have a long history. However, being one of the first platforms of its kind does not automatically guarantee its value today.

The value of a platform is not created by token prices or past achievements alone.

Community value is created when people actively visit the platform, produce content, interact with one another, and find meaningful reasons to return.

This experiment with Cryptid TCG is a small first step toward determining whether Steemit can welcome new communities and users from outside its existing ecosystem.

Beginning with our first 50 participants, we will document the entire process, including account creation, onboarding, content activity, rewards, and user retention.

Through this experiment, we hope to answer one important question:

Can the Steem blockchain and the Steemit community still create new value?

The answer will not come from claims or expectations. It will be revealed through the actual activity and data generated during this experiment.
