Steem is a blockchain-based social media platform where anyone can earn rewards. It rewards users for creating and curating content, by upvoting and resteeming the content of others. Steem also offers its own cryptocurrency, STEEM, which can be earned and used to purchase goods and services on the platform.
What is STEEM and SBD (Steem Dollars)?
Steem (STEEM) is a decentralized blockchain-based rewards platform for publishers to monetize content and grow community. The platform rewards users with the cryptocurrency STEEM for creating, curating, and commenting on content, which can then be converted to other digital currencies or used to purchase goods and services. Steem Dollars (SBD) is a cryptocurrency created by the Steem blockchain that is pegged to the US Dollar at a 1:1 ratio. SBD can be used like any other cryptocurrency, but because it's pegged to the US Dollar, it also has stability advantages that make it a better choice for funding activities like investing or trading.
