There are many people who do this in India, especially in Varanasi. I go to ashrams myself for a break from running from thought to thought, project to project.
It must be some experience and cleaning of everything that comes as a burden in this world we live.Or it's just my imagination making me think like that..
It is really a liberating experience which I renew regularly. Probably I will go back to India in January.
