Muhuri River

What type of service location did you visit? Briefly describe it.

The location that I am going to share is a river. And this is located in the Muri project area. And that is what I am going to share with you today. Basically, this river is the Muhuri River, it is curved and meets the Bay of Bengal. And this area is very popular and many people come here as a picnic spot. There are also two bridges in the same area, a short distance from the river that is here.

One bridge is for controlling the waters of the area and the village, and the other bridge is for vehicles to cross. There is a gate through which the water is controlled and it is forbidden to go to the house or car on that gate or bridge. So another bypass bridge was built, but I have presented to you the river that flows under both of them.

This area was originally built for flood control and development and to increase agricultural production. The work on this project started in the 1970s. Later, many updates were made here step by step, especially a switchgate or bridge was built on the Muhiri River, which is used to control the water.

This dam or bridge was built to control the tide of the sea so that the river does not sink in any direction, where the gate is. And it was built during the British era. There are many fishing projects around here, it is not only through fishing projects, there is also a lot of cultivation here. And with all this, it has been named Muhuri Project. Muhuri Project is centered around the Muhuri River.

Among the Sea, River and Pond which one’s beauty do you like the most?

I like the river the most. The beauty around the winding river captivates the mind and when boats move through the river, it looks amazing. Boys often catch fish in the river. It is very nice to sit on the banks of the river and spend time because when you go to the banks of the river, your mind and mentality become calm. I like the river the most, that is why sometimes when I go somewhere, I sit by the river. I go to the area where the river is and spend some time there.

There is a negative and positive aspect to everything, here too they exist. Just like here, because of the market and water, people are able to project around and cultivate a lot of fish. They are growing good vegetables that are more popular. It is a very convenient thing for them.

Another side

Similarly, there is one disadvantage and that is that it is a picnic spot. Because of the people coming here to this river, a lot of plastic or plastic-like items are thrown away, which pollutes the river and the environment. Also, sometimes due to uncontrolled water, there is a possibility of the water rising and the surrounding villages being submerged.
