Share the Cultural importance of the food belongs to a city?

Talking about cultural importance of the food palm oil is naturally produced in my place. It is produce from palm fruit and it is healthy, it gives food that's red natural colour with lots of nutrients.

Palm fruit is one of those things you will see on my city logo, this shows that cultural heritage that convey or communicate to the next generations. Therefore,we need to remember and continue extracting palm oil from palm fruit rather than destroying them from time to time.

It is also cooked in occasions, traditional marriage and in parties.

Then when added ugu leaf to palm oil rice, its nutritional value increases to a higher level. This leaf is used in cooking our traditional dishes which is widely known for increasing blood levels and it has vitamin A,B,C,&E, it also contains minerals.

Because of this nutritional value, this leaf is commonly used in all home, it is unavoidable when cooking some special dishes like this rice and ekpang Nkukwo even some certain soups in my place.

It is affordable as almost all homes plant it in their garden, ugu leaf and palm oil has a cultural importance.

Immediately I finished cooking this rice, my daughter who was having her nap, woke up and she really enjoyed the rice with her soy milk drink.

This is something you don't need to miss, when once this food is done, that's how other family members will rush the food and it is eaten while its hot.

Some good old days when I was a student leaving in the hostel, the aroma of palm oil rice, wakes everyone up in the hostel and they rush the food till it's finished. It spreads love, unity and bond seeing everyone eat together.

Thank you so much for bringing back this memory, I do appreciate.

I will like to invite my friends to take part in this contest @goodybest, @dequeen and @chant to take part in this contest

This is such a beautiful and nostalgic post. I enjoyed reading about how your mother taught you to cook palm oil rice and how it became one of the first meals you learned to prepare. It shows how food can preserve precious family memories and pass traditions from one generation to another.

Your step-by-step preparation is easy to follow, and the final dish looks so delicious. I also appreciate how you highlighted the cultural and nutritional importance of palm oil and ugu leaves in your city. It was lovely to read that Baby Dara enjoyed the meal too, that truly shows how family recipes continue across generations.

Thank you for sharing our city's special taste with us. I wish you all the best in the contest!

Impressive!! Thank you so much for this positive feedback, I really appreciate. You really pay attention to details in my post. I will be looking forward to read your posts

The entire process of making palm oil rice and the childhood memories associated with it are beautifully captured. The way the cooking steps are arranged using eggs and meat stock makes even a simple one-pot rice nutritious. I liked the addition of 'ugu' leaves at the last stage of cooking; this not only enhances the taste and aroma of the food but also adds an extra dose of iron and vitamins. The use of palm oil and ugu leaves in your city's culture and the mention of traditional dishes like afang or ekpang nakho give an insight into the food culture of your area. The last-minute memories of hostel days and the story of your daughter happily eating it gave the writing a beautiful real-life look. I think this recipe is a great way to satisfy the need for a quick yet delicious and nutritious meal on a busy day. Best of luck to you in this contest. 😊
