Greetings, My Dear Steemians!

I am delighted to participate in Steemit Challenge Season 33 Week 2, From My Kitchen To Your Plate – My City, My Taste. This week's theme gives us the opportunity to showcase the unique flavors that represent our hometowns. I proudly come from Akwa Ibom State, Nigeria, a place blessed with rich culture, warm hospitality, and delicious traditional meals.

We have many delicacies in my city, but among them Atama soup hold a special place in our hearts. This soup is rich and aromatic, I prepared it with fresh Atama leaves, palm fruit extract (abak), assorted meats, seafood, and local seasonings like Uyayak. We commonly served this soup with fufu, eba, pounded yam or semovita during family gatherings and celebrations.

Note "Udia Ibenghe Asen" is a traditional Efik/Ibibio marriage custom in which the bride's family presents elaborate cooking food items to the groom's family during the wedding ceremony. This presentation forms part of the traditional marriage rites and serves as a gesture of hospitality and goodwill. It shows that the bride is from a family capable of preparing tasty and nourishing meals. It also shows respect, generosity, and a warm welcome to the groom's family as both families unite through marriage.

Overall, Udia Ibenghe Asen is a meaningful cultural tradition that celebrates family unity, hospitality, and the bride's family's readiness to support the new marriage.
