RE: Tell Me Fellow Steemians, Where Does Your Food Come From?
Excellent write up. Deserves to be read by every one here. It is so unfortunate how blinded people have become to the things that matter most. The world is in really rough shape. We have destroyed the Oceans to the point of no return. The waters keep getting warmer and warmer and our coral reefs are dying down to less than 20% in the last few decades. The worst part about it is that 99% of the population does not care or thinks it does not and wont affect them. They rather learn about the Kardashians latest outfit smfh.
I don't even know where to start... I just want to grab you into a bear hug. Thank you! I know it's not everyone's favourite thing to discuss, I have been having that battle with my family for years but it's so important! I have been looking for a way to present this information to where people will read it and think maybe they can do something which is pretty small in scale but will positively affect change. I know life is hard and people are worn out from our societal expectations and pressures but we have to take a look at what we're doing to the world and seriously start doing things differently.
I didn't grow up with a family that supports anything you and I are talking about. I had to learn and convince myself on my own. I hope and pray that we can make a little bit of a difference through inspiration :)
Thank you for this comment, it has really made my day!

You are very welcome. Keep spreading the word. There is more of us out there. A lot more than you imagine. We just need to keep telling any one that is willing to listen. The planet needs us to go back to the way things used to be. There is so much open land where I live here in Florida. Just full of weeds with nothing cultivated. They could be rotating crops organically in those open fields. I always think about that. We grow tons of stuff in my yard, in another couple of years I plan on selling and going some where I can have a boat in my back yard on water and a big garden so I can get all of my food from the garden and sustainable fishing.
I am so happy to find 'us', I am going to keep posting about this, it is so important and yet so many people don't even realize.
The under-utilization of land (especially in the US) is actually bonnkers to me. It makes me eyes want to pop out of my head when I see how much barren land there is. We could grow so much more food there... yet a large percentage is imported :S
Good for you for growing your own food in the area you can though, I have friends in Florida homesteading and trying to get their land to produce but they say the soil is tricky.
I wish you the best, I love your dream, I have a similar one... where I can collect my own food right from my property. I would just love that so much ;)
Have a good one! I'm happy we connected!
