An Old Gate Stands Idly as Time Goes By...

Here's my contribution for the #SevenDaysOutside Challenge by @erikah!

Here's a very old gate which has surely seen better days. But now, the poor fellow is almost neglected and it has become tired from the passage of time...

How many people must have walked through this gate? Men, women, young and old, couples heading for their marriages, babies getting baptised... this gate has seen a lot.

But life goes on, people come and go and the old gate remains, getting ever older, waiting for the following generations of humans to do it all over again...

This gate is located right next to the Igrexa da Santísima Trindade (Holy Trinity Church) in the city of Ourense, Spain. This little town to the North of Portugal is very calm and picturesque and has amazing natural hot water springs.

    Beautiful picture... This old gate describes lots of stories... What I felt , this gate is symbol of change like before entering this gate you were single and after entering another side of the gate you are married... I don't know I descried it correctly or not what I felt but this is really beautiful picture with lots of stories...

      Wow, this is a very beautiful picture :) I love pictures of gates :) As a student I took part in a psychological experiment which included photos of gates and doors. This was the first time I noticed how beautiful a door or a gate could be. Since then, I always enjoy such pictures and I always notice the gates and the doors around me.

            If the walls could talk we would hear a lot. Probably there would be a lecture on the circle of life and how time is important friend if we would pay attention to it. Wonderful photo!
