GEOD - DePIN Project Building a Decentralized GPS Network. Thoughts?

What's the play?
Sup degens. Been digging into Geodnet (GEOD) after it popped up on the CoinGecko trending page. It's not another L2 or AI wrapper—it's DePIN but focused on high-precision positioning.

The TL;DR:

  • Users deploy physical reference stations.
  • Network aggregates data to offer centimeter-level RTK corrections.
  • Target customers: autonomous vehicles, drones, smart farming, industrial robots.
  • Token: GEOD, used to pay node operators and access the network.

Why I'm paying attention:

  1. Narrative overlap: DePIN + AI + Robotics is like the holy trinity of this cycle.
  2. Real hardware: This isn't a fork of Uniswap. It's got physical nodes in the wild. The network effect is real, but also geographically sticky.
  3. Revenue model: Potential to generate actual revenue from enterprise clients, not just farming farming.

The 🚩 flags:

  • Hardware costs: ~$500-$1000 per node is a high barrier for average retail. This limits decentralization early on.
  • Token inflation: High initial emissions. If demand doesn't catch up, price gets wrecked.
  • Competition: Traditional players (Trimble, Hexagon) have deep pockets. Can a DAO outcompete them?

One thing that trips people up:
People keep comparing it to RWA tokens like TQQQB (link), ORCLB (link), MVLLB (link), MUUB (link), and SNXXB (link). Those are tokenized stocks—basically crypto wrappers for Nasdaq assets. GEOD is fundamentally different; it's about building new infrastructure, not wrapping old finance.

The million-dollar question:
Will Geodnet become the Helium of location data, or will it fizzle out?

I'm watching the node count and any enterprise partnership announcements. Price is noise; data is signal.

Anyone else running a node or holding? Drop your thoughts below.
