Jesus & the bad servant: So I was afraid and went out and hid your gold in the ground. See, here is what belongs to you. Matthew 25:25

Jesus, after his triumphant entry into the holy city of Jerusalem riding on a donkey, began to teach the mysteries of the Kingdom of God in the temple. Among the teachings he left behind were the Parable of the Two Sons, the Parable of the Wedding Banquet, and the teaching of the commandment of love. Jesus knew he was leaving his final teachings, but he also knew that his disciples and followers had many doubts about that spiritual Kingdom that was supposed to change the world through faith.
After warning his disciples about the hypocrisy of the Pharisees, Jesus left the temple and, probably heading towards Bethany, continued teaching his disciples and explained to them one of the most important parables, the Parable of the Talents. And Jesus began the parable, this beautiful fantasy story, with these wise words: "Again, it will be like a man going on a journey, who called his servants and entrusted his wealth to them" Matthew 25:14. Jesus then taught that this master left different amounts of coins to his servants, according to their skill, and went away. And after a long journey, this man returned and called his servants to give an account, Jesus said.
The first two servants made the money their master gave them grow and gave him much more with interest. The master congratulated them and invited them to share his happiness, Jesus continued. But then the bad servant arrived and answered him: "I knew that you are a hard man, harvesting where you have not sown and gathering where you have not scattered seed. So I was afraid and went out and hid your gold in the ground. See, here is what belongs to you" Matthew 25:24-25. The master rebuked his servant for his attitude, Jesus taught, and condemned him to darkness.
This teaching has a very deep spiritual meaning, because talents represent the spiritual gifts. Just as servants had to give an account to their master for the money they received, men must give an account for the gifts they have inherited from above and how these gifts have borne fruit. Because entering the Kingdom of God means living out the gifts, that is the blessed life.
And those who belong to this Kingdom but do not make the gifts bear fruit, like the bad servant who did not make the money bear interest, will receive the rejection of Jesus.
