BPC-157 is searched 190,000 times a month — the entire human evidence base is thirty people

BPC-157 is searched about 190,000 times a month in the United States. It is sold as a research chemical and bought by people with an injury that has not healed. The honest summary is stranger than either side usually tells it.

The animal work is real, and skipping it is dishonest

In a 2003 study the rat Achilles tendon was cut through, treated, then pulled until it failed — the treated tendons held more load than the controls (PMID 14554208). A 2006 study detached tendon from bone and reported faster reattachment, plus protection against the damage a systemic corticosteroid does to healing (PMID 16583442). Another followed a fully transected quadriceps muscle for 72 days (PMID 16609979). An independent group in Taiwan later replicated a plausible mechanism, tying the effect to VEGFR2 activation and new blood vessel growth (PMID 27847966).
