Sometimes the reserved person who doesn't want to be questioned is simply very shy or very discreet... And sometimes questions are perceived as impertinent.
That's a fair point. And I should have added that sometimes they just don't want to bother explaining because it'll be a rabbit hole of questions they don't have mental energy for so it's not always the case that they're lying
