My presentation in HeartChurt

I am Amílcar Yáñez Sánchez, until now, Senior Lecturer, retired, at the Universidad de Oriente, in Venezuela. Twenty-seven years of life spent there dedicated to the demanding apostolate of teaching. That same university conferred on me almost three decades ago the title of Bachelor of Education, mention in Spanish and Literature. After some time, this institution where I practiced my entire career, through an agreement with the University of Oviedo, gave me a providential opportunity to obtain the investiture of Doctor in Spanish Philology, in 2009.

During the performance of my profession, I was, among other activities, as Coordinator of the Area of ​​Spanish and Literature, I belonged to the Equivalences Commission of the Núcleo de Anzoátegui and was appointed by the dean authority Head of the Department of Humanities and Social Sciences, in this Last position I worked for eight consecutive years, already finishing my career. I also worked as a promotion job advisor, assisting some colleagues who aspired to climb the demanding university academic ladder and was appointed, on more than one occasion, the main jury in the Opposition Competitions, belonging, of course, to the area of ​​my competence.

In my job as a writer, it should be noted that I was the winner in the First Short Story and Poetry Contest, sponsored by the Association of University Professors of the University of Oriente, with the poetry book Las wrinkles of silence. As a narrator, I have a work published on a well-known website, entitled El diario de un desocupado, as well as two others that are in the process of being published. Regarding the area of ​​composition, I must add that a few songs of my authorship have been recorded by traditional musical groups from the east of the country, which contributed to become the founder-director of El Parrandón Udo-Anzoátegui, a university group dedicated to the interpretation and diffusion of the folk melodies of our land.
