Limax Dynamics has unveiled a new autonomous mobile manipulation kit that transforms the Trown 2 into a robot capable of seeing, navigating, and manipulating objects in an integrated manner. The key innovation of this system is its integration of full-body control with 3D perception into a single unit; rather than treating locomotion and manipulation as separate tasks, the robot coordinates its entire body simultaneously.


As its sensors continuously analyze the environment, its arms, legs, and joints work in synchronization to execute a single mission, enabling the Trown to perform tasks that closely resemble everyday human activities. It identifies objects left on the ground, approaches them, automatically calculates the optimal body position, crouches to pick them up, and returns to a working stance without losing its balance.




In the video presented by the company, the robot also performs tasks such as watering plants, transporting objects, and making autonomous deliveries in both indoor and outdoor environments—demonstrating a continuous sequence of actions rather than just isolated movements. This autonomy relies on a sophisticated array of sensors. The kit incorporates 3D environmental perception, enabling the robot to build real-time maps, determine its own location, and plan routes without relying on external infrastructure.


This entire architecture was developed with "embedded AI" in mind. Under this approach, artificial intelligence means more than just answering questions or interpreting images; it requires understanding physical space, controlling movements, interacting with objects, and making decisions while performing real-world tasks. The result is a significant shift in the evolution of robotics. Instead of creating machines specialized for a single function, companies like Limx Dynamix are beginning to develop platforms capable of learning various activities within the same environment.
