SC-33/W4| "Tissues paper crafting"

Hope you all are well. In this week's challenge I created a beautiful parrot image using tissue paper crafting techniques. This activity was not only interesting for me but also gave me an opportunity to learn a new art technique. It was really a pleasant experience to give a simple sketch a beautiful and embossed look with the help of ordinary tissue paper, glue and colors.

Equipment used

White tissue paper
White glue
The water
Drawing sheet
Pencil
Acrylic paint (red, blue, yellow, green, brown, black)
The brush
small bowl
spoon

Step-by-step procedure

Step 1

First I made a light sketch of a parrot on the sheet with the help of a pencil so that later the tissue paper could be applied in the right place.

Step 2

After that, the tissue paper was cut and torn using scissors into small pieces and soaked in water. After a few minutes, squeeze out the excess water from the tissues paper, add the white glue and mix well to form a soft and useable paste.

Step 3

Apply the prepared paste of tissue paper paste slowly on the drawing of parrot's body. I tried my best to cover each and every part of parrot with an even and equal thickness so that the surface would look nice and smooth after drying.

Step 4

When the entire body is done with the tissue paper, let it dry for some time. After drying, the surface was solid and ready for painting. Now I made the outline of the parrot first with a fine brush so that all the parts are clear.

Step 5

After that using different colors the body red, wings blue and yellow, leaves green, branch brown while completing the beak and other parts with appropriate colors.

Step 6

Finally at the end, after all the acrylic colors were dry, I re-check the image and applied light final touches where needed and required. Thus my tissue paper craft is complete also write my username and date.

My experience

This was its my very first time doing and creating tissue paper crafting. At first I thought it might be difficult and very hard to make the paste and apply it evenly on that's kind of thing, but gradually it became easier. This activity also made me practice patience, neatness and better use of colors.

Am I satisfied with my results?

Yes, I am quite happy with the craft I made. I especially liked the color of the parrot and the embossed texture made from the tissue paper. In the future I will also try to create different animals, flowers and natural scenes with the same technique to further improve my skills.
