The Diary Game: Roasting Maize For The First Time (16/04/2026)

l have one maize left from the recent one hubby bought and I decided to give roasting it a trial. I am cooking beans on a coal pot and I use the means to roast corn beside it. I cut the corn in two in other to roast fast and I roast the first pair but it’s almost burn and I give the second roasting on the floor a careful check while roasting it. I ate from the second one I roasted and it’s came out so good.

The corn isn’t as sweet as it used to be fresh from the farm because it’s been three days in my kitchen. I didn’t cook it with the ones hubby bought because it’s not as fresh and soft as a new corn use to be. I kept it aside hoping that hubby will like to roast it and eat because he likes corn that are strong and not too soft like a new one from the farm.

I poured the beans into the boiled water and allow to cook. I go in to check my children and give them corn to eat. My daughter says it’s not edible unlike the fresh one we usually cook. She says corn like this is might for making popcorn and I totally agree because it’s kind of hard to eat but it’s still hot after roasting but I eat it anyway because I don’t want my effort wasted and corn wasted too.
