The Diary Game | A Productive Day of Creating an Arabic Lesson for YouTube

Good day, fellow Steemians!!@dansabeadah

Today was another productive and memorable day, one that reminded me that creating educational content takes far more effort than most people realize.

Starting the Morning with Worship
I began my day by offering my Fajr prayer. Those quiet moments before sunrise always give me a sense of peace and help me prepare mentally for the rest of the day. Before leaving the mosque, I recited one page from the glorious Qur'an. It was a simple but meaningful way to start the morning with reflection and focus.

A Full Day of Content Creation
After returning home, I shifted my attention to content creation. Besides my teaching activities, I also run an Arabic-learning YouTube channel called Arabic Guide 101, where I now have more than 9,000 subscribers. My goal is to make learning Arabic easier for students around the world, and today's lesson focused on Arabic command verbs.
Creating one educational video involves much more than simply pressing the record button. I spent time planning the lesson, recording my voice-over, editing the clips, and making sure everything flowed naturally.
For the thumbnail, I experimented with both ChatGPT and Microsoft Copilot to generate ideas before choosing the one I liked most. I edited the video using Video Guru and CapCut, while Dolby On and an AI Noise Remover helped improve the quality of my voice-over. Each application played a different role, and switching between them took patience.

Uploading the Video
After several hours of editing, reviewing, and making small adjustments, I finally uploaded the finished video to YouTube. Waiting for the first few hours after publishing is always a mixture of excitement and curiosity.
I checked the analytics several times to see how the video was performing. Most of the early metrics looked encouraging, although the Average View Duration (AVD) was a little lower than I had hoped. Even so, the video managed to outperform many of my previous uploads, reaching 44 views within the first twelve hours. That may not sound like a huge number to some people, but every improvement gives me confidence that I'm moving in the right direction.

A Reminder That Success Takes Time
One thing YouTube has taught me is patience. From the outside, people often think content creation is simple, but they rarely see the hours spent researching, recording, editing, designing thumbnails, fixing audio, and responding to analytics afterward.
Sometimes you put in a lot of work and the video barely gets noticed. Other times, a video performs better than expected. There are no guarantees, and that's why consistency matters more than quick results.
Today's experience reminded me that anyone who claims you can easily become monetized on YouTube within a few weeks is giving people unrealistic expectations. For most creators, growth is gradual and requires persistence, continuous learning, and plenty of patience.
I'm grateful that today's upload has shown positive signs, and I hope it continues to reach more learners in the coming days. No matter the outcome, I'll keep improving one video at a time.
Thank you for reading my diary. I wish everyone a productive and successful day ahead.
