The idea is viable. A project called Fundition already explored the concept.
Unfortunately, the project no longer exists. Usage was low even at its peak.
You can check the project, as it may offer insight into its shortcomings.

I was just brainstorming some additional features yesterday!
I want to be careful, though; I think simplicity will help this more than complexity in terms of viability.
