SLC-S31/W3-“Creative Interpretation| The Theme -“Silence Speaks”
I am Jyoti from India, and I am happy to participate in the SC 31 W3 contest: https://steemit.com/steemagro/@ninapenda/slc-s31-w2-creative-interpretation-or-the-theme-silence-speaks organised by @ninapenda
WEEK 3: The Theme -“Silence Speaks” |
|---|
Interpret “Silence Speaks” creatively in an art, poem, photography.
For this contest, I chose a picture of the Mona Lisa. I got it for free from Pixabay. When I saw it I thought it was perfect for this article about peace. That's why I picked it.
Looking at this edited Mona Lisa, I have a thought:
The thing that stands out is combining an old painting with a modern face mask. The original Mona Lisa by Leonardo da Vinci is known for her smile. With her mouth covered, that mystery now focuses on her eyes. It gives a feeling of being quiet on purpose or to stay safe. It shows how much we use the part of someone's face to know how they are feeling.
The silent Mona Lisa still makes me think. The Mona Lisa is still a choice for this article, on peace. I like the Mona Lisa in the art because it is an example of quiet people who watchfully observe all the events, become silent, and wait for their turn.
Regarding the silent people, I think silence has a lot of power that people often miss in a world where everyone wants to talk. Here are a few thoughts:
Active Observation: People who are quiet are often really good at paying attention. While others are talking they are taking in information, noticing things in a room and listening to what's not being said. The truth is, quiet people are often very observant. They collect data. Notice things that others miss.
A persons outside doesn't show much but inside they may be thinking and feeling a lot. They have humor, ideas and creativity. They only share these things when they think it's really important. It's like an iceberg. You only see a part of it but theres a lot more underneath.
Misinterpreted Intent: People often think quiet people are shy, distant or judgmental.. For many it's just that they prefer to think things through before speaking. It's not that they're not interested it's just that they like to process things
Measured Speech: When quiet people do speak their words carry a lot of weight. They don't waste words so when they do speak its usually something. Their contributions tend to be more thoughtful and have an impact.
It's interesting to think about the Mona Lisa. With a neutral expression she's one of the most famous people, in history. It shows that you don't have to be loud to make an impact.
What message is being communicated through silence in your piece?
The art shares many messages with us. Some of those messages are:
Remain calm. Just watch what is happening. When it's your turn ask your questions. You will succeed.
This message means that "Remain calm" is about handling things without getting angry or worried.
"Watch what is happening" means look around you and carefully see what others are good or bad, at.
"Ask when it's your turn" means wait for the time and place and when you have facts then ask your questions.
Who is silent in your interpretation and why?
According to me, a quiet or peaceful person is one who stays clear and calm inside even when things are chaotic outside.
When talking they let others speak and think before they share their thoughts; they do not. Get loud.
They do everything with calmness. Whatever they say they say it clearly. With confidence.
No matter how big the issue is, they talk about it clearly without being dramatic.
I also noticed that quiet people often have a sense of Art. In my view those who are usually quiet have an eye for art.
They are people who're happy, with what they have and they care about others more than they want to be the center of attention.

What happens if that silence is finally broken?
When people who are usually calm or patient get angry, the results can be really bad. This saying means that if people who never get into fights suddenly get very angry, nobody can handle or stop what happens next.
- Example: If a quiet staff at the office is bothered and made angry all the time what happens when he finally quits his job can become a problem for the people, in charge the management itself.
I want to invite my friends
to take part in this contest.
