RE: "SC-S33/W3-Rewrite a movie ending (Killers)
Your dissatisfaction with the original ending of Killers is very reasonable. The idea of parents separating again, leaving their newborn child in the care of others, is not at all in keeping with normal family sentiment. The most powerful aspect of your planned climax is Jane’s direct intervention and Spencer’s surrender of his weapon. In my opinion, a true transformation of a former assassin occurs when he chooses restraint over violence at the height of the conflict. The idea of Jane coming forward during the face-to-face conflict and tying the family together with the message of the arrival of a new life takes the story a step further. The resolution found through forgiveness and love in your idea seems much more complete than the loose farce of the original film. Best of luck to you in this contest. 😊
