By now I did the door twice with white paint. The same I used for one side of the bathroom's door (that was a wooden one). It needs at least one extra layer if not two. According to my son it is a type of primer so I might add the green at a certain point. It will not be on short term since the door should be cold.

You can sand down plastic as well just use finer sandpaper, although some scratches might not hurt the end result. It all depends on the paint and if you use a brush or something else. I think about painting flowers on it if the end result looks too ugly.

If there's a deep scratch, possible to fix it with putty or something? Let's see how it looks at the end of it. You may keep flowers as backup and for other things

It is a waste of material. All I care about is to make it look a bit better. No one can actually see it from a distance, since the door isn't close to the road (and no one is allowed to enter my property).
