RE: The end of the Watercolour Paint Journey
I only wet those spots I will use the paint on. I tried to wet the entire paper but that doesn't seem to work out. Can be me, the wrong paper, the wrong paint or a combination.
I tried on canvas, which should be possible but for that is a different type of "gesso" is needed, and I don't like to buy that. Still, I do believe it must be possible to paint on canvas (or linen or cotton) since the paint remains in the cloths I use to dry the brushes. For sure I will try that, but for now I rather improve my sketching.
I tried watercolour painting for about 4 weeks and I like to do something else and fill out my "ugly" sketchbook with something else (plenty of books I can use for sketch books LOL).
I still cannot make the ink run, very annoying. In between I will sketch with a pencil and not use a raiser.
I really love the fact that you are trying out every method, this is how you tend to find a medium that suits you perfectly. Improving on your sketch will help you a lot, sketching is one of the first step to a successful drawing. I also think there will be a watercolor base paper out there that can help but finding it is another thing.
What type of pen do you use?? have you tried using hot water to heat the ink tube in the pen?
