Today I am going to share a very interesting topic with you. From the title, you may have already understood what this post is about. Actually, I captured these photos a long time ago for this post, but didn’t get time to publish it. Today I am finally sharing it with you. Many of you know that there was a flood in our area. Due to that flood, many people faced serious losses, while at the same time some people also benefited. I will share both sides with you today.

At the beginning, floodwater entered the city in large amounts. The main reason was waterlogging. The drainage system was not functioning properly, so water had no way to flow out and remained stuck in the city. Gradually the water started to recede. When the water level kept increasing, it created a situation similar to a flood. However, after some time, the situation improved, and the water did not remain permanently in the city.

Since we live a bit inside in a rural environment, the flood didn’t reach us immediately. In fact, such a flood had never been seen before in our area. Even the elderly people said they had never witnessed such flooding in their lifetime. It was completely new to them. After seeing this flood, they shared many opinions and experiences. But if we observe carefully, we can see that the water stayed in our area for quite a long time.

In the city, water used to rise after rainfall and then gradually go down. But in our area, once the water entered, it stayed everywhere because it had no proper outlet. Also, the sluice gates in our Musapur area were closed, which prevented the water from flowing out. Later, the gate broke, which was a very unfortunate event.

However, many people in our area are involved in fish farming. They had large fish farms, and when the floodwater entered, many of those farms were washed away. Fish started moving freely in different places. As a result, many people rushed to catch fish. When we visited one such place, we saw a huge crowd. Even more people came just to watch. Everyone was catching fish one after another in a queue, and almost everyone was successful.

There was a system where people would take turns to throw their nets. No matter who cast the net, they would catch at least one fish. There was no one who went back empty-handed. Some even caught multiple or large fish.

But if we think deeply, we can see the reality—many people lost their homes and suffered from food shortages due to the flood. Yet at the same time, others were enjoying and happily catching fish. This situation is both painful and ironic. However, for some people, this was also a small opportunity to gain something during a difficult time. Since there was no electricity and no devices working, people had no other option but to engage in such activities.
