The Diary Game || 8/04/26 || Was At A Popular Terminal In My City to To Get A Parcel.

Today was awesome, the only difference was the distortion in my daily routine as I had to visit a popular Terminal here in my city. I got a call last night that my parcel had just arrived from Ilorin. I had actually been expecting it but it wasn't forthcoming until the store keeper over there called.

I had called the supposed driver's yesterday who outrightly told me, he doesn't know anything about the parcel to be sent. Well I decided not to get worried until the following day as there could have been a mix up somewhere that would soon be resolved. So when I got that call, I knew everything had been sorted from their end.

I decided to go get the parcel before going to work since I was sure that it had arrived. I had also called to be sure they were already there so I don't experience unnecessary delay at the terminal. My last experience there wasn't funny at all. I could remember spending more than 2 hours waiting for a driver who told me he was close.

I got to the Terminal and called to find my way to the exact place where I would get my parcel. It's actually a large place. It was built not long ago, I think it's about 3 years old, still looking nice due to maintenance or maybe I shouldn't be quick to give credit maybe I should come back in 10 - 15 years to credit the people in charge of the maintenance.

I eventually found my way to the store keeper's stand. She asked me to call out my mobile number which I did, she did that to be sure it wasn't the wrong person who was coming to collect the parcel. Immediately her curiosity was satisfied she asked me to follow her to the store where I will be given the parcel.

She then led me on, we entered a hallway filled with people who are probably waiting to board a vehicle, relaxing or have other things to do in the terminal. Some looked tired from their journey or tired from waiting... They were not my concern though I just followed the store keeper till I was handed my parcel.

I decided to take a picture of myself in the terminal, just for the records...lols. I think it's my second time exploring that place. I couldn't take much pictures the last time I was there, but this time, I managed to take a few. Oh sorry I digressed, let's get back right into the gist.

I had to confirm the parcel, it was exactly what was asked to be sent. It was already opened though. I didn't like the idea that it was already opened. Not like they took anything from it but I would have loved to receive it with everything intact. I guess they wanted to check what it is, I wouldn't know but this made me feel very uncomfortable.

What if it was something very confidential, would they still have to open or break seals just to know what a parcel contains. What if the parcel is rejected by the receiver because it has been tampered with. Well I really do not know how this thing works. I just decided to keep quiet about it though.

I relaxed a bit before setting out finally since I've gotten what I was there for. I stepped out into the busy surroundings of the terminal with vehicles of different sizes and shapes calling for passengers going to any part of Nigeria. This is actually the beauty of that place. They have vehicles for every location in Nigeria.

My journey back to the office began after buying lamps at a shop not far from the terminal. I got to the office a few minutes to 12 noon and then continued my office routine. Of course it was already a half day work at the office for me and equally a full day work in the grand scheme of things, the only difference is the location where I discharged my duty because the parcel was for the office.
