I frequently enjoy experimenting with culinary creations, particularly focusing on reducing carbohydrate content while ensuring that the meals are not only easy to prepare but also nutritious.

Previously, I shared an authentic recipe for chilla,
which is the traditional method commonly employed to prepare this delicacy. However, this time I aimed to innovate by approaching the recipe from a different perspective.

Yesterday, I prepared chilla utilising boiled potatoes and boiled pumpkin, and I am pleased to present the detailed recipe here. Additionally, I will outline how one can modify the recipe by altering various ingredients to suit individual preferences.

It is important to note that the quantities of ingredients may be adjusted based on personal or family requirements.

Without further delay, I invite you to join me in the kitchen as I demonstrate the preparation of the chilla I made yesterday.

STEP 3:-
Once the boiled potatoes and pumpkin have cooled to room temperature, utilise a mixer grinder to prepare a smooth and creamy paste.

STEP 4:-
Please combine the mixture of potato and pumpkin in a large bowl. Subsequently, incorporate all the chopped vegetables, along with the gram flour and Maggi masala.

Rice flour can be utilised as an alternative to gram flour to enhance the crispiness of chilla, which serves as a useful cooking tip for the day. In my preparation, I employed gram flour to incorporate vegetable protein into the chilla, thereby increasing its nutritional value.

STEP 5:-
Utilising a tablespoon, combine all the ingredients thoroughly and incorporate water as necessary to achieve the desired consistency of the batter, as depicted in the accompanying image.

STEP 6:-
Please verify the salt content before adding any additional salt, as the Maggi masala already contains a combination of spices, including salt. Furthermore, the butter utilised also includes salt; therefore, it is advisable to assess the seasoning at this stage before proceeding.

STEP 6:-
Begin by placing a tawa, or flat pan, on medium heat. Once the pan has reached the desired temperature, reduce the flame and carefully grease
the surface of the pan with butter. Next, pour in a portion of the batter and allow it to cook until the upper surface appears dry. Subsequently, flip the chilla and continue cooking it thoroughly on the opposite side. Finally, add one tablespoon of butter and cook the chilla until it turns golden.

The chilla is now prepared and ready for serving.

While it can be enjoyed on its own, pairing it with your preferred side dish is encouraged for an enhanced experience.

I hope you find satisfaction in this recipe. At times, embracing the role of a food scientist can lead to exciting culinary discoveries. What are your thoughts on this approach?
