<div class="text-center"> ## The Diary Game:Empowering Mothers Through Nutrition Education(21/04/2026) </div>
Hello wonderful community! 🌸✨
Today, I’m thrilled to give you a glimpse into my yesterday—one of those rewarding times that reaffirmed my passion for being a dietitian. Each day brings its own set of tasks, lessons, and unforgettable moments, but yesterday stood out because it combined both service and teaching.
My day began early at the antenantal health clinic, where I was joined by my human nutrition and dietetics students who are currently undergoing clinical training. It was a heartwarming experience to work alongside them, allowing me to mentor future healthcare providers while fulfilling my own responsibilities. The clinic had a serene atmosphere, and I was ready for the health talk with the attending mothers.

During the session, I focused on essential nutrients crucial for pregnancy, emphasizing the importance of a balanced diet for expectant mothers. I highlighted folate (folic acid), which is vital for the healthy development of the baby’s brain and spinal cord, and its role in preventing neural tube defects. I urged the mothers to include folate-rich foods such as leafy greens, beans, oranges, avocados, and fortified cereals in their diets.
We also explored the significance of iron for pregnant women, explaining that it aids in producing the blood necessary to oxygenate both mother and baby. I warned that insufficient iron can lead to anemia and fatigue, and recommended iron-dense foods like liver, fish, meat, beans, and spinach, encouraging them to pair these with vitamin C-rich foods for better absorption.

Furthermore, I stressed the need for calcium in building strong bones and teeth for the baby and maintaining the mother’s bone health. I pointed out sources of calcium like milk, yogurt, cheese, sardines, and certain vegetables such as ugu and broccoli.
The mothers engaged attentively, asking insightful questions and sharing personal experiences. The interactive nature of the session made me feel fulfilled knowing that I was providing valuable information to help them during their pregnancies.
After the health education, I dedicated time to teaching my students about practical nutrition education, effective patient communication, and the significance of empathy in healthcare. Seeing them eager to learn and inquire was incredibly rewarding.

By the end of the day, I felt a deep sense of fulfillment, gratitude, and pride in the difference I was able to make—educating mothers, mentoring students, and promoting healthier families. Experiences like these reinforce my belief that every effort is essential in making an impact. 💕
