‎Hello Steemians, welcome to my blog. I’m here to tell you how my day went on the date above.

‎Today was another wonderful day in my life because I achieved something that truly brought me happiness and peace of mind.

‎I woke up early, just like I always do, and took care of my usual morning chores. There’s something calming about starting the day with a clean space and a clear mind. After finishing up, I called one of my students on the phone. I asked him if we were still going for the eye test we had planned. I’ve been having eye issues lately. Sometimes the brightness of my phone screen hurts my eyes badly, and I’ve been getting headaches after long hours of blogging and drawing. I knew I couldn’t keep ignoring it.

‎When I called, he said he wasn’t quite ready yet and suggested we go at noon instead. He repeated that we should head to the clinic around noon so we wouldn’t be rushing. I agreed, then got myself busy with other activities to help the time pass. I did a little writing, tidied my room some more, and just tried to relax.

‎When noon came around, I decided to treat myself before heading out. I went to my favorite restaurant to have breakfast. I ordered Eritan soup and Eba. I ate slowly, savoring every bite because I wasn’t in a hurry. The meal was comforting, and it gave me the energy I needed for the rest of the day. After I was done, I walked back home to prepare for the trip.

My breakfast

‎At exactly noon, I trekked down to my student’s apartment. It’s just a 3 to 4-minute walk from my place, so I got there quickly. When I arrived, he was already outside waiting for me, which I appreciated. Punctuality makes things easier.

‎We boarded a tricycle heading to Ibom Plaza. The ride was short, just a few minutes. Both of us live on Udo Usanga Street off Ikpa Road, so we know the route well. Ibom Plaza is the heart of the city, always busy and full of life. From there, we boarded a minibus going to Aka Road, where the eye clinic is located.

‎When we got to the clinic, the staff welcomed us with warm smiles. It immediately made us feel comfortable. We went inside and sat in the OPD, chatting casually while we waited for our turn. The atmosphere was calm, and the wait didn’t feel long because we were engaged in conversation.

In the OPD waiting

After the medical checkup, the doctor told us the good news: we don’t have any eye defects at the moment.

Variety of glasses and frames in the clinic

That was a huge relief. However, he advised us to get photochromic glasses to protect our eyes from screen strain and UV light, so we can prevent problems in the future. He explained how the lenses adjust to light and reduce glare, which is exactly what I need since I spend a lot of time on my phone and laptop.

The OPD in the clinic

At first, the glasses were quite expensive, but I couldn’t stop myself from getting them. My eyes are too important to take chances with. When I got home, I decided to try them on immediately to see how they looked. To my surprise, they were awesome. They fit my face well and actually improved my appearance.

Trying on the new glasses

‎Now I can draw, blog, and watch movies on my phone without the constant fear of damaging my eyes, even with my hypertension. The reduced glare makes a big difference, and I feel more confident spending time on my work.

‎By the time we returned home, it was already evening. I was tired but satisfied, so I stopped at one of the restaurants on my way to buy dinner for myself. It felt like a small reward for taking care of my health.

My dinner

‎I was very happy that I accomplished everything I had set out to do for the day. Getting the checkup and the glasses felt like a major win. All thanks to my student who accompanied me and made the whole process easier.

‎That’s how my day went.

‎What about you, Steemians? How was your day?

Thanks for going through my blog and post. I really appreciate that
