Steem Expedition 2.0 Everyday Routes: The Place of Services and Movement

Our theme for the 3rd week of Steam Expedition 2.0 is The Place of Services and Movement. Some service-oriented organizations around us work as the fuel behind the scenes to keep our busy lives moving. Today I will take you to one of the busiest shops of my very close friend Anwar, which is a lifeline of our Manikadi Amtala area in Dhaka Cantonment.

The name of the place I am displaying is Mobile Fix Point.

Address: 129, Lalmia Complex, Manikadi Amtala, Dhaka-1206.
Directions: From the ECB premises in Dhaka, head towards Kalshi Road and pass Manikdi Bazar to reach Amtala Intersection. The Mobile Fix Point shop is located in the Lalmiya Complex row, right beside the main road at the intersection. The location is easily accessible from different parts of Dhaka by rickshaw, auto-rickshaw, or CNG via ECB Chattar.

In my opinion, this is a versatile electronics and mobile service provider. The shop has nice lighting, CCTV cameras, and a small seating area for customers. I have mentioned some of the services and prices of the products in this shop below:

4. Your personal experience and the service you received.

The owner of this shop, Anwar, is my childhood friend. We grew up together in the same area. My friend Anwar started this shop in 2025. I have seen his honesty and hard work behind the business very closely. Recently, when I had a problem with my phone's charging port, I went to his shop. Anwar solved the problem with great care in just 20 minutes and, in return, charged me a very small service fee. I think his excellent manner and impeccable work skills will impress any customer. We chatted there for quite some time, and for a moment, I felt like we had returned to that childhood.

TASK 2

1. How does this place or the work of the people there benefit your own daily routine?

In my opinion, this shop is a lifeline for some people in their busy daily lives. When my mobile balance runs out before going to work in the morning, or I need to send money to my loved ones, or when the mosquito infestation suddenly increases at night, I don't have to run far to get a mosquito bat. In this one shop of Anwar, we get all the solutions from mobile recharge and emergency mobile banking transactions to daily electrical gadgets for the house, which saves both my time and effort.

In that case, I would put my hand on my friend Anwar's shoulder and say, Friend, you are not just running a business; you are eliminating the daily suffering of the people of our entire Manikadi area. If someone's phone suddenly breaks or if there is an urgent need to send money at night, your shop is everyone's hope. Your honesty and smiling service have made our lives a lot easier. Thank you very much from the bottom of my heart for your hard work.

2. If you could interview or offer a few words of thanks to one of the workers there, what would you say about their work?</div

3. What do you think would happen in your community if this place or this service stopped operating?

I think if this shop suddenly closes for some reason, our residents of the Manikadi Amtala area will face some temporary problems. Everyone will have to go to the main market, about 1-2 kilometers away, to recharge a mobile phone, send money, or get minor mechanical faults fixed. Especially at night or in times of emergency, the speed of communication and services in this entire area will come to a halt.

4. When you stop to observe, what sounds, smells, or sights make you feel the true "dynamism" of this place?

Standing in this shop, one can hear the beeping of a multimeter, the familiar smell of mixing paint with a soldering iron, and the sound of customers calling their numbers one after another to recharge their money. Sitting at the counter, my friend Anwar's quick hand pressing the mobile button and the rechargeable fans, lights and neon lights arranged on the display behind him - all this together creates a lively and busy atmosphere in the place all the time. This non-stop activity gives me a sense of the real dynamism and vitality of this corner.

In my opinion, Mobile Fix Point is not just a service center or shop; it is a place of daily trust for the people of our area. In this mechanical city, the honesty, tireless work, and smiling service of my childhood friend Anwar are constantly making the lives of hundreds of people like us a little easier. In this busy era, such a friendly service center not only saves our time and effort but also reminds us how a small initiative can become a big driving force for the entire society if there is sincerity. May Anwar's journey of honesty continue for a long time, and may this story of unity and love among the people of our Manikadi area continue like this.
