Today I am going to talk about a mosque called ‘Chini mosque’ located in Saidpur. It is a traditional mosque located in Saidpur upazila of Nilphamari district of Rangpur division. To see this unique example of Islamic architecture, you have to come to Saidpur city. Chini Masjid is located just about 3 kilometers away from Saidpur bus terminal. It will cost 30-40 taka to reach here from the bus terminal. First, you have to take an autorickshaw from the bus terminal to Panchmatha intersection. Then, from Panchmatha, you have to take another autorickshaw to Golahat. This mosque is located in Saidpur Golahat.

This mosque was built in 1863. Over time, this mosque has been renovated many times. And through various infrastructural developments of the mosque, the mosque has gained its present form. I have visited this mosque several times. Each time, the structure and architecture of this mosque have left a deep impression on my mind. I have climbed the ground floor and the second floor of this mosque. And have completely visited the mosque.

The mosque has a clear influence of Mughal architecture as well as a beautiful blend of Arab, Ottoman and Persian styles. What I like most about this mosque is the shiny, glass-like appearance of the walls. Various designs have been created using broken pieces of porcelain and glass. Which makes this mosque truly beautiful.

![]() | ![]() ![]() The mosque has 27 minarets and there is a lamp at the top of each minaret. The shape and design of the minarets are very impressive. To climb to the second floor of this mosque, you have to go there during prayer time. Then the muezzin of the mosque comes. He has the key to the second floor. The muezzin has the key to the second floor. The designs of the second floor are even more fascinating.
The design of the walls of the mosque is unique. It is not like any other mosque. The design of the outer gates is the same. However, the design of the inner gates is different. The windows are also beautifully decorated, which has helped to increase its overall appeal. The design of the flower tree shape has been created using glass pieces on the balcony on the second floor. The mosque has all the modern facilities including adequate lights and fans inside. There is no air conditioning in this mosque. However, since the mosque is located in an open area, there is always wind. There is a modern ablution room on the left side of this mosque. Where many people can perform ablution at the same time. There is a provision of hot and cold water.
Chini Mosque is undoubtedly one of the historical monuments of Saidpur city. Its extraordinary architecture and intricate design of the walls will fascinate you. A huge road passes by this mosque. Vehicles are always moving on the road in front of the mosque. This makes a lot of noise. It would be better if the vehicles did not make noise while passing in front of the mosque.
This mosque is a unique example of the Mughal architectural heritage that still survives in our country. Which was built in the city of Syedpur. Proper maintenance of such an ancient mosque with rich architectural qualities is very important. I hope this mosque always gets the care it deserves from the local people.
