A Lesson Life Taught Me

What is the most valuable lesson life has taught you?

Life taught me so many things, most especially to do good to others even if it's small. It will change someone's life. Although not everyone you do good to will return the favor, it's better to look away and see how God Almighty will bless us in return.

I also learned that we should never belittle some people we call friends because a miracle can happen at any time where you will wonder how come or what connection he or she has to reach the top. We should respect each other's dignity and tend to help if you are in a position to do that because we don't know what tomorrow will say.

What experience helped you learn this lesson? Please describe it.

The experience I have is when I was in secondary school. There was a guy who was my classmate and we used to joke at him a lot to the extent we would imitate the way he was talking. After we graduated from secondary school, I saw his post on my social media handle that he was gaining employment as an immigration officer who was just undergoing training and posted to the northern part of the country. And every since then I never underrate humans because I don't know what God has prepared for him.

The day we met at his family side, we greeted each other and he even assisted me with his motorcycle and dropped me at a T-junction so that I could comfortably find a taxi or a commercial tricycle that was going my way. There is also a colleague like that whom I bought food for. In fact, I could not remember anything, so when I didn't have money to buy food, I kept on complaining. He ordered food for me, and I asked why he reminded me of what I did for him some days back.

How has this lesson changed your life. Or the way you make decisions today?

It changed my life completely because since I learned that lesson, I continue to do good for people around, especially those I noticed find it difficult to eat three good meals in a day. Even if they lie about their condition, I will still give them because I know I will receive blessings from Almighty God.

This decision has been with me for a long time, so I tried to adopt it in my plan, and I still encourage others to do good so that the world can be better for each and every one of us. There are many people who complain about the situation of the country; once you notice that your support will mean a lot to them, keep on praying for the opportunities you provide them with.

What advice would you like to give others based on your experience?

➡️A person who gives never lacks, and God will continue to bless such a person. That's why we see philanthropists in society whose wealth continues to grow.

➡️We should never underestimate our fellow humans, and we must categorize them as the people who can connect us to bigger opportunities that we don't expect.

➡️Lastly, assist less privileged people, donate as much as you can to these people so that their lives can be better, and at the same time, they will keep in mind you in prayer.
