SHOW YOUR SKILL TALENT TIME W104 👉 ART, INNOVATION, HANDMADE, UPCYCLING, PHOTOGRAPHY, POETRY & MORE

The drawing is a light bulb with a human eye and brow placed inside the glass.

A light bulb is a symbol for ideas, insight, and consciousness. The eye represents attention, observation, and awareness. By combining them, the image shows the mind as something that is awake and actively watching. The brow adds a sense of focus and concentration, like when you are paying close attention to something important.

In simple terms, the drawing means that human awareness is not passive. It is about keeping your mind on, noticing what is happening around you and inside you, and staying alert so you don’t miss what matters.

It’s a visual way of saying that being mentally present and attentive is what separates simply existing from actually understanding and responding to life.

progress

I started with a rough sketch using a light graphite and charcoal pencil. The goal here was to block out the basic structure of the bulb and the placement of the eye and brow inside it. I kept the lines loose and light so I could adjust proportions without pressing hard into the paper.

Once the frame work was done, I moved to building value. I worked from the darkest areas first inside the metal base of the bulb and the shadowed parts of the eye using the side of the charcoal pencil for broader strokes. This gave me a base layer without overworking the paper too early.

I used tortillions to blend the charcoal I applied to the paper, I took the charcoal from the areas I’d laid down and gently blended it outward with the tortillion to create smooth transitions between light and dark. The tortillion let me control the blur, so I could soften the edges of the bulb’s glow and create a gradual fade from the darker center of the eye to the lighter highlights. I worked in small circular motions to avoid streaks and kept cleaning the tortillion on scrap paper to prevent rough marks.

The blurring method was key for the glass effect. Instead of sharp lines, I let the blended charcoal create soft shades that will work with the curve and transparency of the bulb. For highlights, I lifted charcoal carefully with my mono eraser and left areas of the paper untouched to act as the brightest light.

Final rendering

Finally, I refined the details the outline of the eye, the texture of the brow, and the filament inside. I went back with a sharper charcoal pencil for these.

Wow you have made a very wonderful drawing🤩. amazing and excellent. I was ready to give you feedback as soon as I saw it. How did you make an eye inside a bulb? It looks like an Etsy drawing. The way you made the step-by-step drawing. your way of explaining and making the drawing is also very good. It is very simple and excellent drawing. You have drawn a very wonderful 👍 and amazing color in a small amount of material. The lens you made inside the eye 👀 looks like a real eye. And you started inviting me to post. God bless you. Keep working hard and trying like this. This is my prayer.
