My Weekly Food Highlight, Take a look
Greetings to you all great Steemians, |

Here is my entry
Food has a special way of bringing comfort and satisfaction to people, especially after a busy day. This week, I enjoyed some of my favorite meals, and each of them came with its own story. Here are my weekly food highlights:
Rice and stew with chicken and suya meat
Bread and fried eggs
Afang soup with fufu and eba
Fried plantain with eggs
Rice and Stew with Chicken and Suya Meat |
|---|
My first food highlight for this week is this delicious rice and stew with chicken and suya meat. The major ingredients are rice, tomatoes, and meat. It can be eaten with a spoon or cutlery, but I enjoy using a spoon.
I ate this meal on Sunday evening before going to bed. I was very tired and hungry that evening and had little appetite. Fortunately, I knew exactly what would improve my mood which is my favorite meal, rice and stew. I was too tired to prepare it because of my busy schedule for that day, so I decided to buy it instead.
To make the meal more attractive and appealing, I added two different sources of protein. Although the meal did not taste exactly the way I expected, the proteins covered the flaws and satisfied my hunger.
Here is the recipes for this meal👇
Bread and Fried Eggs |
|---|
My second food choice for the week was bread and fried eggs. The major ingredients are bread and eggs. It can be eaten with a fork or any cutlery.
I ate this meal on Monday morning because I was craving it. I always prefer eating foods I truly crave because forcing myself to eat something else might result in not eating it at all.
Afang Soup with Fufu and Eba |
|---|
My third food highlight is this sumptuous Afang soup with fufu and eba prepared by me. The major ingredients are Afang leaves, water leaves, meat, fish, pepper, crayfish, and seasonings. Cassava was used for the eba. It can be eaten with a washed and cleaned hands, a fork or cutlery.
The preparation process was simple. First of all I washed and dried my Afang leaf, sliced it and pounded it. I washed and sliced my water leaf, steamed the meat and fish, added seasonings, pepper, and crayfish and left it to cook for some minutes and then mixed in palm oil and finally added the Afang leaves to complete the meal. Although I bought the eba because I am still learning how to prepare it, I hope to make everything myself very soon. The reason why I cooked this meal was because my family decided to eat it for that day and it's also one of my favorites soup too.
Fried Plantain and Fried Eggs |
|---|
My last food highlight for the week is this mouth-watering combination of fried plantain and fried eggs. It can be eaten with a fork or cutlery but I mostly use a fork. I ate it this morning because I was craving it. I usually wake up with a strong desire for fried eggs, so I decided to add ripe plantain to complement the eggs and satisfy both my cravings and my stomach.
I extend my gratitude to @ngoenyi for this amazing contest. |
