I haven't been to my village for a long time. I have to stay away from home all the time due to my studies. This time I got Eid and summer vacation together. It was a long vacation of almost a month. So I couldn't stay away from home. As soon as the vacation was over, I went back to my village home.
Whenever I feel like going out, I go for a walk along the village road. The dirt road in the village is not very smooth. Our village road is also like that. During the rains, mud accumulates on the road. Also, during the harvest season, the road loses some of its beauty due to the farmers carrying straw.
Although this road of ours does not have any special features, its importance is very high for the people of the village. Because the distance from this road to the main road is about one kilometer. Yet, people from four or five villages travel through this one road. In the morning and afternoon, the people of the village go out to walk along this road. Large vehicles do not move much, because the road is unpaved. However, vehicles like auto-rickshaws, CNG and motorcycles do move occasionally. The village road is a bit curved and a bit far away.
People from one village go to another village through this road. Many people have built houses along the road. When we were children, when we were thirsty while walking, we used to go to those houses to drink water.
This road in our village has many memories of my childhood. Walking along this road, holding my father's hand, going to the market, and hanging out with my girlfriends in my teens—all these memories come to mind.
All in all, if this road in the village had been paved instead of unpaved, the lives of the villagers would have been easier. They would have been able to move from one place to another very quickly. Farmers would also be able to transport their produce and raw materials to the market quickly with less difficulty.
