The Diary Game: Applying Herbicide To My Maize Farm [4/5/2026]

Yesterday was a resting day and a day of Thanksgiving to the almighty God for the give of life. So I need to size my farming activities to honor that day and pray for God health and energy to continue with my daily farming activities for the coming week. finally, It is another new week to continue with my daily activities.

When I woke early in the morning today by 5:00AM I first observe my morning devotion. Today morning devotion remain me that nobody is created ugly By God and it is wrong for someone to say to someone you are ugly. And as individual don't be discouraged when someone says to you are ugly because you are fearfully and wonderfully made by God for his purpose.

After the morning devotion I quickly get myself ready for today task. After washing my face, I brought the knapsack sprayer and the herbicide outside which I will used to spray on the farm land I plant maize to control weed for some times before weeding. To achieve that I have to apply the herbicide early before the maize will germinate so that it will not affect the maize.

When I arrived at the farm I brought down the knapsack sprayer then I open the herbicide. before I went to the farm I already assigned someone to fetch water and keep so that when I reach the farm I will start spraying the herbicide immediately.After opening the herbicide I fetch 200ml and put it inside the knapsack sprayer then I filled it up with water. The knapsack I used is a 20 litre knapsack sprayer.

After filling the knapsacks sprayer up with the adequate volume of water I lift it up and placed it on my back. After placing it on my back I test it functionality first to see if the water will come out with the pressure I want because that will to determine how fast the work will move

After I confirmed the functionality of the sprayer I went straight to start applying it on the farmland. When I was applying the herbicide I was singing at the same time. If you are farmer you will understand why I am singing while working. You know there is some vibe that came when you are working especially when you are enjoying the work and you have enough energy that is what I was feeling that makes me to start singing. When I was singing and working at the same time I burst laugh immediately when I remember something when I was in school. There is one of our classmate then in school when our agriculture teacher was teaching us weed. The teacher define weed as an unwanted plant that grow on the farm. Then the boy stood up and ask a question that if I plant Groundnut on my farm and unfortunately maize grow there is that maize a weed?. Then the teacher said yes. Then the boy say how can something useful be a weed. That infact it is a double blessing from God. Then the teacher make him to understand that the most important word in the definition is unwanted but if he want the maize then it is not a weed. Then the boy said he understood now.
